Mission

Brilliant Beginnings Education Centre Inc. was developed by Child Development Specialist, Melanie Gushnowski to provide educational programs for parents, infants, and toddlers in the Calgary area.   Melanie’s desire is to see parents as “experts” in their child’s development.  In a society where there are 100’s of books on child development, parents are experiencing knowledge overload!  Brilliant Beginnings helps distinguish what is fact and fad, and helps parents understand their important role as their child’s first teacher.

Melanie Gushnowski has her Masters in Applied Psychology with a major in Human Development & Learning.  Over the last 10 years, Melanie has worked with parents and children in the fields of health and education.  Melanie is passionate about early childhood and brain development and has conducted research on attachment security.   Melanie continues to study early childhood development, behaviour, and the relationship between environment and brain development.
